So we are now 8 days after serg and we are doing way better than i ever expected. there were deffinatly some ups and down last week that freeked me out, butv i beleave we are over the hump now. day 1and 2 after serg were great pepper was feeling great. we were sleeping alot but all in all simple. she was going out to use the bathroom on her own with minimal help. But as the 3rd day rolled around i realized just how big of a serg this really was. i had to go to work, but i was nervice. her gums were pail on and off and she seemed so much weeker. my husband stayed home with her and as 2pm rolled around i hade to leave work , she was very cold and pale and it almost heemed like she was in a panice. i was scared she was getting shocky so be brought herto the vet to get her checked out. they checked her himoglobins and realized it was just pain related. after an extra shot of hydromorphyne her color came back and she was able to rest. but on the way to the vet she tryed to jump in the car on her own and fell on the staples. the next day her color was good but wwe has some bleeding under the skin, a basball sized adeama under her neck and a ballon of fluid onder her chest. so fearing she was bleeding to much we were off to the vet again. after blood teast to check her levels again we were told that all was good and it would reabsorb over time on its own. Day 5 her energy was better and she was getting stronger, then the next day was better and 7 days after srg she was up before me standing up, tail wagging, and was looking like my old pepper again. even better than before the serg. now we are 8 days post serg we had a chck up yesterday and the vet is happy with what he see’s. Hopfully we will be able to get the staples out on saterday. the adeama is almost gone and we are off pain meds compleatly. we have been on tramadol and medicam for 7weeks, and today with no meds we are happy and alert and the spark is back in my sweet peppers eyes. She is moving around more and super happy. I know now that i have done the right thing, as scarry as this dissition was to amputate. I am continuing with my natrual treatments for the cancer and hopfully with a little luck we will be able to hold the cancer off. We got a biofeed back done and there is no sign of the cancer and i am hoping to keep it that way. i look forward to seeing her get stronger and for her to get some quality back to her life..
glad you’re seeing the spark back in pepper’s eyes!!! the first two weeks really can be hell weeks – we all feared for the worst and i’m sure i aged ten years during that time. paws crossed for continued recovery and many, many happy times ahead!!!
